His reporting from the scene of the Trump assassination attempt was central to The Post’s coverage that won the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News. He joined The Post in 2022 to cover Republicans, the MAGA movement and the Trump campaign. He was previously an investigative reporter at ProPublica and a money-in-politics reporter at Politico. His first book, "Finish What We Started," about the MAGA movement since Jan. 6, was published in April 2024. His second book, "2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America," with co-authors Josh Dawsey and Tyler Pager, will tell the inside story of the 2024 campaign.
