I also covered D.C. restaurants, politics, and culture for Washingtonian Magazine. For three years, I was the Editor in Chief of the Wheaton Record, our award-winning student newspaper, during which time I led it through a pandemic shift to a digital-first publication and reignited student interest in reading and working for the paper. While managing the paper, I also covered contentious stories about political tensions on campus and a series of faculty and staff cuts that rocked the institution. In summer 2023, I reported for the Chronicle of Higher Education in D.C., where I covered stories on state budgets for higher education and the unique pressures facing Christian colleges. Previously, I worked for Willamette Week, an alt-weekly magazine in my hometown of Portland, Ore., writing on state politics, city transportation policy, and an enterprise story about the state's reliance on its lottery system. I have also written freelance about mental health for Christianity Today.
