Claim your profileI've spent more than 30 years writing for public consumption and of those, some 28 went under the Richmond magazine masthead. Here, I established a history column in 1995, generated the Theresa Pollak Prize for Excellence in the Arts, a cross-disciplinary recognition of artistic achievement that brought together the regional creative community in celebration (1998-2018). I've become a face of the publication, sought after for interview broadcasts, public events and a frequent speaker or panelist for various occasions. Along the way, I've helped found two theater contemporary theater companies, led history-based tours, written two books of history from The History Press, "True Richmond Stories" (2007) and "Richmond In Ragtime: Socialists, Suffragists, Sex & Murder" (2009). My first published novel, "Carlisle Montgomery" (2019), teed up for promotions in 2020 and then 2020. See harrykollatz.com and the "Carlisle Montgomery" Facebook page.
