Claim your profileI am an experienced journalist, dedicated to covering diverse issues that matter to my community - through balanced, contextual and moving stories. Currently, I am a reporter on the Los Angeles Times' new Fast Break Desk, covering the day's latest news, diving deeper into controversies, emergencies and other issues that are most important to California and the West. I previously covered criminal justice, incarceration issues and law enforcement in Central Florida on the Orlando Sentinel's Justice and Safety team. Before that, I worked for one of the scrappiest newsrooms, leading criminal justice coverage for The Advocate in Baton Rouge, focusing on law enforcement issues, crime, breaking news, sentencing and reentry reform, juvenile justice, the aftermath of the Alton Sterling shooting and prisons. I strive to produce quality, fiercely-reported, well-written journalism everyday, in an era when that could not be more valuable.
