In 2020, Ong finished her master's from the Women and Gender Studies Institute at University of Toronto, and completed a collaborative specialization on women's health from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Her thesis investigates the mother-daughter(-grandchild) relationship in the context of a Chinese postpartum practice called "sitting the month" (zuo yue zi). Ong is interested in projects concerning women’s health from a social science perspective open to feminist interventions, theories, and methods. In the future, she intends to continue to illuminate reproductive and peripartum disparities contained within the societal and biomedical construction of family. Impactful, broad-picture motivated, and detail oriented, Ong is a driven individual who enjoys interrelatedness and connectivity. From 2015-2018, Ong completed three undergraduate majors and three minors, while pursuing research opportunities and community involvement. Currently, she is applying her qualitative research skills to better understand the needs caregivers/parents of individuals with developmental disabilities, while spreading her extra time between several editorial and writing capacities.
