Claim your profileI've done a lot of things, some of them well, and some badly, and learned more from the latter.I've been an investigative reporter, entrepreneur, software and tech designer, and a corporate consultant, having raised more than $60 million and helped several companies grow from startups to revenue..I'm also an author, having just completed my first novel, Burning Earth: Climate Wars, about the geopolitical conflicts created by runaway global warming. My early expertise was primarily in media relations and in software design, but my work over the last decade has also included management consulting, financing, and project management for several companies. I've raised approximately $50 million during this period.I spent 24 years as a journalist, which I loved, primarily in the area of crime reporting and investigative journalism, including nine years at CBC News. In 2008 I co-founded VeriCorder Technology where I developed next generation audio-video applications and newsroom systems for media companies.I've since done a great deal of consulting work, primarily in the legal cannabis industry, and ran my own media relations agency and boutique finance operation. Specialties: Writing, corporate management, public relations, website design, mobile application design, corporate finance, corporate restructuring, editing, video, audio, TV reporter, radio reporter, investigative reporting, wireless technology, media law, criminal law, wine tasting and blogging, and travel writing. It's a long list ... but then, I've been around a long time. In my spare time I like wilderness kayaking, creative writing, and playing the drums.
