Claim your profileAs a journalist, I first cut my teeth reporting for public radio stations across the Midwest and Colorado. I began to focus on agriculture and farm labor during my time at Harvest Public Media, a regional reporting collaborative, where I frequently contributed to NPR news. In late 2019 I became an independent journalist, reporting internationally from Mexico and from my home in Denver. As a fluent Spanish-speaker, I work in audio and print to tell stories at the intersection of agriculture, U.S. immigration policy and climate change. Starting in 2022 I began working as a temporary producer for StoryCorps, producing the audio segments that air on NPR's Morning Edition. In this new role I've grown as a story producer, learning to create pieces that illustrate human connectedness and an individual experience within our collective history. My freelance work has been featured by Snap Judgement, The Nation, Mother Jones Magazine, NPR and Latino USA. I am a 2021 recipient of the UC Berkeley-11th Hour Food and Farming Fellowship.
