She was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list, 2022, for services to Journalism and to Women. Emma is the co-founder of maternal health charity Send Hope Not Flowers and is the Telstra ACT Business Women of the Year for 2016 in the Social Enterprise category. She is the convener of Women in Media Canberra and founded the Caroline Jones Women in Media Young Journalist’s award in 2017.Emma has been a journalist for 30 years – 13 of which were spent in the Press Gallery where she was Canberra Times Bureau Chief.
