As part of a talented communications team at BayCare Health System, I tell stories about the people that make St. Joseph’s Hospital one of the best in the state. I work with colleagues, patients, and community partners to highlight the ways our hospital serves health care needs in the Tampa Bay area. Prior to BayCare, I was on the small but mighty communications team at the University of South Florida's St. Petersburg campus. In these roles, I’ve helped earn media coverage from the Tampa Bay Times, New York Times, NBC News, and others. In my spare time I’m an independent writer and journalist. My stories about the impact of science and policy on people and the planet have been published by The Guardian, Outside Magazine, Undark Magazinr, PBS, Popular Science, Quartz, Vice, Salon, and others. My commitment to the Tampa Bay community continues after hours. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Nathan B. Stubblefield Foundation, a nonprofit that operates WMNF Community Radio, as well as various advisory committees.
