I've been covering car technology as a journalist for more than three decades and as an authority on connected car and mobility technology. My opinions have appeared in such high-profile media outlets as The New York Times, The New Yorker, USA Today, Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, Boston Herald, Detroit Free Press, Reuters and others. I've appeared on CBS News, CNBC and the Los Angeles affiliates for ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News to talk about car technology and I'm a frequent speaker at automotive and consumer-electronics industry events.In 2013 I co-founded the Connected Car Conference (C3) at CE Week in New York and co-produced the inaugural Connected Car Expo at the LA Auto Show. I cofounded the C3 Group and co-produced successful events under the C3 brand at SXSW, the New York Auto Show, in Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. I also formed the Connected Car Council, made up of top industry thought leaders and launched the C3 Report to provide news and analysis on the fast-changing connected car and mobility space. C3 Group was acquired by Wards/Informa in 2018.I've been a columnist for Autoblog, Forbes.com and PCMag.com and have written for MotorTrend, Automobile, Edmunds.com, Autoblog, Popular Mechanics and numerous other outlets. Prior to launching C3, I served as Senior Editor, Technology at Edmunds.com. Before joining Edmunds.com, I started Newcomb Communications & Consulting to provide content to such outlets as Wired, Road & Track, MSN Autos, Corvette Quarterly, SEMA News and many others. I also worked with AMCI Testing to benchmark in-car technologies. In 2008, I published my first book, Car Audio for Dummies (Wiley).I began my career in 1988 as the editor of the industry trade magazine Mobile Electronics, and went on to serve as editor of the consumer publications Car Audio and Electronics, Car Stereo Review, Mobile Entertainment and Road & Track Road Gear.
