Claim your profileI am an Alabama-based reporter for Inside Climate News, where I cover environmental and climate change issues within the state. Before joining ICN in August 2024, I was the natural resources reporter at AL.com, the leading digital media platform in Alabama. I worked for AL.com for 17 years, including nine on the environmental beat, covering a wide range of topics around energy, the environment, sustainability, science, public health, and breaking news events such as the Colonial Pipeline explosion, and Moody landfill fire.As AL.com's natural resources reporter, I produced multiple award-winning stories that highlighted the challenges and opportunities facing Alabama's environment and its people. I have investigated the spread of biosolid wastes on farmland, reported on the impact of microplastics pollution on rivers and oceans, and chronicled Alabama's natural history in a 12-part series. I have also covered topics such as climate change, wildlife conservation, renewable energy, and environmental justice. I have developed strong editorial, web content, and new media skills, as well as a deep knowledge of the local and regional issues and stakeholders. I am passionate about serving the public interest and fostering a diverse and inclusive newsroom culture.
