On the national digital team he has covered major news events, such as the U.S. 2020 presidential election, London, Ont. vehicle attack and the COVID-19 pandemic.Denio previously worked as an associate video editor at HuffPost Canada. He has also worked as an associate producer on two projects for CBC's podcast and television services.As a freelance journalist, Denio has covered LGBTQ2S+ issues, technology and politics for a number of publications, including The Globe and Mail, VICE and NBC News.His investigation into the mistreatment of transgender people in the Canadian prison system was a finalist at the 2021 Digital Publishing Awards.Denio holds a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where he graduated from in 2018. He also studied political science and gender studies at the University of Toronto.
