Claim your profileDavid grew up reading the Miami Herald and has been lucky enough to spend the last two decades covering his community for the paper that made him want to be a journalist. From community news to police shootings to presidential campaigns, he's done it all. He led the Miami Herald's coverage of Florida's 2018 gubernatorial campaign, ran point on their political plan for the pandemic and the 2020 presidential election, and moved into editing in 2021, overseeing reporters on local government beats. These days, he works with the Miami Herald's parent company, McClatchy Media Company, to coordinate their coverage of Washington.
