Hey, I’m David Here's a little about me: I'm the Partnerships Producer at LAist 89.3 FM and LAist.com (Southern California Public Radio). I've been in this role at LAist for over two years and it's been really exciting to partner with local community organizations, local media, and civic-info hubs like libraries to meet people with information and resources. Through this work I've also coordinated with local stakeholders through distributing flyers, postcards, and posters I've designed or facilitated the design of, to get our resources and reporting in front of Angelenos across LA County.* I'm also currently a Slack community manager and mentor for NPR Next Generation Radio where I help alums like myself, other mentors and new students of the project to learn new skills, and grow and connect with other members from our community. My former role was as a community engagement producer at Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting. My work there was getting our investigations and findings to communities and stakeholders across the country. Before that I was an Assistant Producer at LAist where I talked with residents and community organizations around Southern California, but mostly around LA, and learned how newsrooms could report on the decennial census.
