Radio and Digital Media are David Prior’s passion, as a Broadcaster On Air and an Online and On Air Content Producer.In 1978 aged 12, David began broadcasting on radio after school at local community station 2MCE FM Bathurst. At 13 he hosted weekends On Air at commercial station 2BS, and programmed an early era automated broadcast computer system. David became full time in Radio on 2BS at 14 hosting On Air the Drive shift, which was also networked out live to 2MG Mudgee & 2LF Young.After On Air stints in Canberra, Goulburn and Orange, he moved to 4BC Brisbane to host a nightly magazine style Talk & Entertainment Show.When 2UE purchased the station in 1991, John Laws personally asked David to programme & produce the show he networked into Brisbane. It was the first time the John Laws Morning Show had attempted taking on another major capital city market outside Sydney. David later went on to programme overall the incoming networked and local shows of 4BC, working closely alongside Talk Radio legend John Brennan. Hosting his own #1 rating Saturday night show 'Down Memory Lane' a swoon of 50s & 60s music, he constructed a popular website in 1997 to match online the radio content.As Technical and Content Producer of the John Laws Morning Show, David moved to Sydney in 2001 and at 2UE worked alongside Australia’s ‘King of Radio' networking the programme to 83 radio stations. David added to the On Air programme 'The Fortress', creating the hugely popular John Laws website. David also hosted a Saturday night Talk and Entertainment show on 2UE, networked out to regional stations across Australia.Moving to the role of 2UE Online Manager in 2007 to 2015, David created the station’s social media content, keeping it relevant with breaking news & issues online, maintaining the News Talk 2UE Website, Twitter & Facebook accounts live and active 24/7.Becoming On Air Host of weekday night time shifts on 2UE/Talking Lifestyle in 2016 & 2017 he broadcast programmes with a mix of lifestyle & high-profile interview guests networked to each capital city. David also Co-Hosted and Produced the popular weekend medical show Healthy Living with Dr. Ross Walker.David Prior currently works at ABC Local Radio Australia, Producing on the nationwide networked programme Nightlife, hosting his weekly music segment Songsmiths and guest broadcasting the occasional On Air fill-in shift on the wireless.
