I'm a 15-year veteran business journalist with extensive experience in writing, editing, public speaking, newsroom leadership, and content strategy and distribution. I have particular expertise in sports business, crypto, media, Big Tech, and retail/apparel. I've appeared on CNN, CBS, Fox Business, BBC, ESPN, Golf Channel, NPR, and more.At Fortune, I wrote fast breaking news for the web site and longer print features, including multiple cover stories; during that time I also wrote frequently for Sports Illustrated. At Yahoo Finance, I wrote breaking news, hosted a daily live streaming show, launched a sports business podcast and video series, and led onstage panels at live conferences. At Decrypt, I led editorial, recruited a team of journalists, planned and emceed live conferences, and launched a crypto interview podcast. At Variant, I edited technical essays and thought leadership, launched a newsletter, managed the firm's social accounts, and advised portfolio companies on content strategy. I've also written literary criticism in a number of places including The Paris Review, Salon, Air Mail, NPR, and The Daily Beast. I love helping young journalists (and speaking to classes).
