I left Sixth Form with A Levels under my belt, but I wanted a different route from university. So I decided to apply for a BBC apprenticeship scheme. It changed my life. After achieving my NCTJ in Journalism, I started as a Digital Journalist for BBC Radio Somerset on contract, working across the radio station and digital platforms. After a few years freelancing in Somerset, Bristol, I worked BBC Radio Gloucestershire as a social media journalist for 18 months. I developed my skills in live reporting and working across multi-platforms.I now work as a Multimedia Journalist for BBC West in Somerset telling local stories across all of the BBC’s platforms.
