I am Damita — a journalist, audio & video producer.I am currently based in Chicago, but I was born and raised in Dubai, UAE, where I grew up as an Indian expat. I recently graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School with a Master of Science in Journalism. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in digital cinema in 2021, from DePaul University.Presently, I am a Digital Content Producer at NewsNation -- the fastest-growing national cable news network reaching 70 million television households across the United States.Previously, I gained valuable experience as an intern at CNBC, where I contributed to their Investigative and Specials Unit. Before that I was a Podcast Producer at Americaneagle.com Studios, producing and managing podcasts for Roe Conn (WGN) & Richard Roeper (The Chicago Sun-Times), and, Dick Butkus (former linebacker for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League). I was also an Investigative Intern at ABC 7 Chicago.Using audio and video, I produce dynamic multimedia stories. Through technology and management, I tell stories that combine personal perspectives and arguments with expert facts to show real matters. I have a determination to do anything I put my mind to, and I will see it through until the end, especially if I am managing something that is my own or I get to make it my own.My motivation is to inform people about what is going on in their neighborhoods so that they can make knowledgeable decisions. I am a skilled reporter, writer, and audio and video editor who enjoys working in digital and broadcast journalism. I know my way through digital marketing and website management.
