His reporting spanned everything from teenage innovators tackling environmental challenges to corporate greenwashing and the unsung leaders driving climate justice in the Gulf Coast. He also reported on the "creeping" capitalism smothering historically Black and Hispanic communities in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and California's San Joaquin Valley. As the author of the weekly Meltdown newsletter, Christopher blended sharp analysis, humor, and mental health insights to help readers navigate the complexities of our warming world.His journalism has earned national and international recognition. He was awarded an Overseas Press Club Foundation honor for exposing the human trafficking of young soccer players from Senegal to France. His investigative reporting on police corruption in Alabama led to criminal charges, civil lawsuits, and first-place recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Green Eyeshade Awards. He has also received multiple statewide journalism honors in Alabama.Christopher is a graduate of Columbia University’s Stabile Investigative Program, with expertise in broadcast journalism, video production, and editing.
