Claim your profileChris Welch is a multiple Emmy Award-winning New York City-based journalist and news anchor who’s been telling stories with heart ever since his very first News Director took a chance on a then 17-year-old in high school, allowing him the opportunity to shoot and report at KTIV Sioux City, Iowa. As the solo anchor of Fox 5 New York’s midday newscast, “The Noon,” Chris has helmed breaking news coverage of the biggest stories including the Covid-19 lockdowns, Governor Andrew Cuomo's resignation, the January 6th insurrection, and the 2022 NYC subway shooting. As a reporter, long-form feature stories are one of his journalistic passions. His career includes nearly a decade at CNN, where he held various roles including embedded producer assigned to Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, MMJ in Minneapolis, and reporter/producer in New York. He has also served as the national correspondent for all Scripps-owned television stations.
