Claim your profileI'm a reporter who covers federal courts and law enforcement in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties, with a focus on white-collar crime, public corruption, and other news at the intersection of law and politics. I previously spent nine years covering criminal justice, policing, and gun violence in Philadelphia. I was a lead reporter on a team that was a finalist for the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory Reporting for examining the city's unprecedented surge in homicides and shootings. I conceived of that project and helped lead several of its biggest stories. My work has also uncovered abuses at a youth placement facility and helped expose a corrupt homicide detective. As the latter scandal unfolded, a colleague and I reported, scripted and helped produce a radio hour about it in partnership with Reveal, the Peabody Award-winning program from the Center for Investigative Reporting. I've been awarded fellowships from the National Press Foundation and the John Jay/Harry Frank Guggenheim Symposium on Crime in America.
