Claim your profileI graduated from Northern Kentucky University in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. I want to further my expertise and knowledge in sports journalism, which is why I will be starting an online Master of Arts in Sports Journalism program at St. Bonaventure University in August of 2024. Along with jobs at grocery stores in my younger years, I worked as a freelance sports reporter at the Williamson Daily News (HD Media) before undergoing full-time gigs at the Appalachian News-Express (Pikeville, KY), Ruston Daily Leader (Ruston, LA) and WV News (Clarksburg, WV) before returning to HD Media in January of 2023 to work for another weekly newspaper they own called The Logan Banner. I still hold the position at the Banner today. I have gained countless amounts of experience covering high school sports. I've covered collegiate sports also and gained significant experience covering Louisiana Tech University and Grambling State University at the Ruston Daily Leader before covering Marshall University football at the WV News, all three of which are NCAA division one schools. I have a top-notch work ethic and a desire to be the best in everything I do. I always give maximum effort in any endeavor of life, and I strive to exhibit honesty, loyalty, integrity, as well as the other qualities that make a great journalist. In sports journalism, I make every measure possible to ensure that local athletes are in the spotlight for the hard work they put into their respective sport. I develop as many relationships and sources in the community as possible, whether it be with coaches, fans, school administrators, or whoever I need to as far as my job is concerned. I try to make sure my stories are as interesting as possible in the eyes of the reader, and I want to hook them right from the beginning with a catchy headline and lede. As soon as they start reading my stories, I want them to want to read it all the way through. I have a burning passion for this industry, and I will never stop looking for ways to improve as a sports journalist.
