I hold a Political Science degree from Hillsdale College, and am currently a full-time reporter for LifeSiteNews. Previously I have been a regular writer for Live Action and the former David Horowitz Freedom Center website NewsRealBlog, a lobbyist for the National Pro-Life Alliance, an assistant editor for The Federalist Papers Project, and a freelance writer published at numerous conservative websites. I believe my extensive body of published work speaks to my abilities as a commentary writer, though I have ably performed a wide array of positions. I am well aware that conservative commentary is a crowded field brimming with repetition (both of sound arguments and of stale clichés), but I humbly submit that this is exactly what sets me apart: I abhor paint-by-numbers punditry and strive to offer an alternative to it. I believe there is a largely-unmet yearning for digestible analysis that does not merely reaffirm what readers already know and believe, but instead respects them enough to tell them the unvarnished truth about any situation, firmly detached from the ramifications for any public figure, political faction, or ideological trend. I also believe this audience is hungry for solutions to their concerns they can either take on themselves, support politically, or demand of their representatives, that are more concrete than the platitudes that accompany most right-wing bromides. In all my work, I strive to find insights that help readers form a deeper understanding of the factors animating current events and develop strategies for translating ideas into results, all rooted in conservative first principles as best I understand them, paired with an appreciation that sanitizing one’s own political players or environments is detrimental to advancing those principles.
