She regularly makes appearances on radio and television news outlets across the world to speak on her reporting from the Pentagon.Prior to that, she covered U.S.-China tensions and the Navy’s 7th Fleet as Stripes’ Indo-Pacific correspondent for more than three years at Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan. She has spent extensive time reporting on national security and international conflict, embedding with the U.S. military, as well as with the Royal Australian Navy and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, and has a master's degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.Before joining Stars and Stripes, Caitlin worked as a breaking news reporter at the Orlando Sentinel, where she was part of the team that placed as finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news. There, she also produced video content for all of her articles and regularly guest-hosted the newspaper's daily news show in cooperation with Orlando's Fox 35 News.She began her career as a crime and breaking news reporter at the Lawrence Journal-World in Kansas after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in journalism from the University of Kansas.
