She has spent extensive time reporting on national security and international conflict, embedding with the U.S. military, as well as with the Royal Australian Navy and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, and has a master's degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.Before joining Stars and Stripes, Caitlin worked as a breaking news reporter at the Orlando Sentinel, where she was part of the team that placed as finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news.
