Two and a half decades of experience reporting on food and beverage trends in the restaurant industry in the United States, from quick service to fine dining. Specialties: Food, specifically of Asia, more specifically of Southeast Asia, even more specifically of Thailand, with a fair amount of knowledge of French, Italian and Mexican cuisines, and no slouch, by American standards, when it comes to the foods of Africa, the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Good knowledge of cooking, agriculture, political/environmental/nutritional issues related to food; a decent amount of knowledge regarding wine, beer and spirits.
