I write Calm Down, a substack about internet politics. Prior to that, I was the editorial director for growth & strategy at Mother Jones Magazine. A “social media wizard,” according to the New York Observer, I have taught seminars on digital media around the world and my work “mastering the dark arts” has been profiled in Politico, Mashable, and Nieman Lab. My teams have been nominated for two National Magazine Awards and my work was cited in Mother Jones’ 2017 win for Best Overall Magazine. “Wickedly amusing,” according to Reason, my articles have been read by more than 20,000,000 people, cited in countless publications, and even appeared in Barack Obama’s 2016 White House Correspondence Dinner Speech. I have appeared on Fox, NBC, NPR, and CBC, and in 2016 I played Young Bernie Madoff in the hit ABC miniseries Madoff.
