Claim your profileSince I learned to read, I was always a sucker for a good story. I would stay up until the ungodly hours of the morning finishing that ‘one last chapter’ or reading ‘just a few more pages.’ From my love for reading came my love for writing and my passion for storytelling. Instead of dancing or swimming, I signed up for creative writing at summer camp and have been fine-tuning my skills and improving my grammar since then. My passion for news came from this initial love for writing and crafting stories in a way that captivates an audience and keeps them reading. Working as a news reporter and editor, I’ve met many interesting people in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas and have been able to tell their stories and the stories of their community through print and digital formats. Through this work, I’ve learned what modes of storytelling work for each platform and that there’s more than one way to tell a story. In addition to traditional journalism, I’ve learned how to bring my storytelling capabilities to the social media space through working as a digital news intern at The Advocate and collaborating on a capstone project creating a social media campaign for Country Roads Magazine. Everyone has a story. Let me help you tell yours.
