Claim your profileI am a journalist currently reporting for The News Minute, where I focus on stories at the intersection of law, gender, caste, mental health, and human rights — mainly in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. I am especially interested in how policy and social structures shape the lives of marginalised communities. I am also specifically drawn to how the law operates (both in principle and in practice) and often look at legal frameworks and justice systems through the lens of the people most affected by them.I've received the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award in 2022 and the Project SIREN Award in 2024. Currently, I am a fellow with the GroundTruth Project’s Report for the World program, focusing on caste-related issues. I was also a fellow with the Health Systems Transformation Platform in 2022 and am part of InQlusive Newsrooms, an initiative to make Indian media more sensitive to LGBTQIA+ issues.Beyond journalism, I'm also an aspiring translator with an ever growing interest in literary translation, particularly fiction. I occasionally take on small translation projects, and I'm always open to discovering new works. If you come across something you think I'd enjoy, feel free to send it my way!
