I'm an MMJ/ reporter at WFTS - ABC Action News, a news station owned by Scripps News Group.I strive to help make voices heard while being fair, unbiased, and truthful. I am a motivated and passionate storyteller with strong analytical and creative skills who takes on new ideas with an open mind, striving to excel in any work environment. I previously worked with Action News Jax in Jacksonville and SNN, the Suncoast News Network in Sarasota. During my time at SNN, I was honored to receive several awards from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists Sunshine State Awards. I was recognized for my coverage on 'Unraveling the Mystery of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie,' a Sarasota skateboarder who went to the Olympics, and for when the Sarasota people protested for Cuba.I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Florida in 2018 with a degree in Mass Communications focused in Broadcast-Production, and with minors in Theater and Communication. I am a Cuban-American born and raised in Tampa. My experience and skills range from behind the camera, to in front of the camera, to speaking in front of a mass audience. During my time at USF, I learned how to captivate an audience through the art of storytelling. I discovered the joy of giving people a voice, sharing the untold stories that needed to be heard. But, the idea of lights, camera, and action also excite me, so I pursued broadcast production. I have also always been active in dance and music. So, the productions I'm interested in aren’t limited to just video production, for I'm also fascinated by stage productions and dance productions; because of this, I minored in Theatre. My passion for dance led me to teach over 150 people, allowing me to grow in my public speaking skills, which leads me to my minor in Communication.
