One of my first political memories is feeling deeply conflicted when deciding whether to vote for President George Bush or soon-to-be President Bill Clinton in my elementary school’s 1992 mock presidential election. Picking a favorite candidate felt like picking a favorite parent.Looking back, it seems only fitting that I grew up to be a reporter. My job keeps me in the middle of current events while requiring an open mind and a willingness to listen to different sides of an argument much in the way I still listen to my parents debate over the dinner table.
