It's been my privilege to both write and edit timely, compelling and thought-provoking news stories and feature articles for some of the best newspapers in Southern Maine during my career. My mantra is, it's all about the reader. I key in on the unanswered questions in news stories and urge reporters to go further, develop their sense of curiosity and push themselves to know more. I have been responsible for the soup-to-nuts content for many publications: mentoring and coaching reporters; opinion page editor; elections guru; procuring and editing columnists; editing staff-generated stories and press releases; writing briefs; assisting the public; and proofing pages. I enjoy drawing people out to both get interesting and unique information during interviews and bond with the writers I edit. I thrive in a dynamic newsroom and the collaborative environment that comes with it. I consider journalism vital and important work that is more of a calling than a profession.
