Hi there! I’m Angie Lau, an award-winning journalist turned entrepreneur, and someone who’s deeply passionate about shaping a brighter future for the next generation. I’m the Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of ASRV’s Life Beyond School, an initiative that helps kids and families get ready for the ever-changing, tech-driven world we’re all navigating. Before this chapter of my career, I spent over two decades as a broadcast journalist, including an incredible run as the global anchor of Bloomberg TV’s morning show, First Up with Angie Lau From exclusive interviews with business icons and world leaders to covering global markets, it was an unforgettable ride that gave me a front-row seat to some of the most important stories of our time (and yes, I somehow managed to interview Li Ka-Shing in his first TV appearance in a decade!). In 2018, I decided to step into entrepreneurship, combining my love for media, technology, and storytelling to found Forkast. We took on the challenge of breaking down blockchain and emerging tech for executives and industry leaders. Fast forward to 2023, and Forkast merged with CryptoSlam, a leading Web3 data index firm. That same year, I was honored to be named Tech Woman of the Year in Hong Kong—definitely a “pinch me” moment! These days, I’m all about helping families and kids prepare for what’s next through Life Beyond School. It’s incredibly rewarding to take everything I’ve learned (from interviewing 10,000+ fascinating people to navigating the world of startups) and use it to make a real difference. When I’m not working, you might find me speaking at conferences like the World Economic Forum in Davos, Paris Blockchain Week Summit, or Mobile World Congress Shanghai, sharing ideas about innovation and the future.
