Claim your profileProfessional Experience: Writing and lots of it. Writing for newspapers, magazines and websites on many varied subjects, although strangely my two most common themes have been sailing and pharmaceuticals. Go figure, as our cousins across the pond might say.Had a spell in the British Olympic Squad, which led me into sailing journalism, which has drawn me into all sorts of reporting and commercial copywriting work. My words have helped sell everything from $5 dollar widgets for sailing dinghies to superyachts worth hundreds of millions of dollars.Having spent so much time promoting other people's businesses online, I've become pretty good at working out what works on the web too, so that's becoming a bigger part of my working world these days. Helping people promote and sell stuff online. Creating websites and online media that actually does something, rather than just sit there and look pretty in the corner...Specialties: Writing - reporting, interviewing, journalismCopywriting - writing words that sellPodcastingOnline marketing - email marketing in particularRunning the stage and MC duties at live events like the Yacht Racing ForumLive commentary and expert analysis of sailing events like the Olympic circuit and various grand prix racing circuitsInnovative, first-to-market ideas. Taking proven concepts from other industries and applying them to more traditionally minded, conservative markets. Such as the marine industry! ;-)
