Claim your profileAndrew Douglas is an award winning anchor and reporter who brings thirty years of journalistic experience to Memphis and the Mid-South. Since 2006 He has been proud to work for WMC and currently anchors the morning news on Action News 5 and digital newscasts on our digital channel 5.3. He works as an investigative reporter too. You can watch him Monday through Friday on WMC Action News Five from 5-7am and then on our digital channel from 7-11am weekdays. Andrew takes his responsibility to give back to the community seriously. In addition to his annual support of the United Way charities, he hosts and emcees events and fundraisers all across the Mid-South throughout the year. Some of them include: The Alzheimer's Association Walk for a Cure, The American Heart Association's Heart Ball, The Autism Awareness 5K, Project Green Fork's Living Local auction and fundraiser, The Memphis Oral School For the Deaf auction and fundraiser, The Boy Scouts of America, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, The Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce breakfast series, The Memphis Business Journal's healthy food initiative and Memphis’ Training Camp for Dads. He has been honored as one of the best anchors in Tennessee by the Tennessee Associated Press. The Tennessee AP also honored him as one of the state's top reporters. He's received honors from the Emmys and the Society of Professional Journalists. He's also earned ‘Best TV News Anchor' status in various reader polls among two prominent Memphis publications. Before Memphis, Andrew anchored and reported at the top rated CBS affiliate in the country, WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio. His investigative reports at WJHL in East Tennessee helped change legislation to protect thousands of marriages. He was one of the first journalists hired at the 24 hour Orlando news station, Central Florida News 13. He covered the NASA space program including live reports from shuttle launches and landings. His first job out of college was in Columbus, Georgia at WRBL. He graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
