Claim your profileHi! I'm the higher education reporter at Signal Ohio / Signal Statewide, where I cover Ohio's colleges and their impact on our state. My work is produced in partnership with Open Campus. It's a nonprofit news organization focused on strengthening higher education coverage in local communities like mine across the country. Before heading to Signal, I spent two years reporting on the same beat for Crain's Cleveland Business, a leading business publication in Northeast Ohio. I have a master's degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College as well as a decade of professional experience at different media outlets, including Newsy (now known as Scripps News) and Washington Week on PBS.My mission is to create engaging, in-depth narratives focused on the people and issues that matter in higher education. I am particularly interested in exploring topics such as college access and affordability, student retention and success, and the impact of higher education on local economies and communities. I am skilled at conceptualizing story ideas, building a network of sources, conducting interviews, and writing stories for digital platforms. I am also proficient in blogging, social networking, and video production. I am a curious, collaborative, and passionate journalist who loves to learn new things.
