I'm a senior editor covering healthcare at Forbes. I also co-author the InnovationRx newsletter and edit the Next Billion-Dollar Startups list. Before switching to the healthcare beat in 2024, I covered climate tech, industrial innovation and entrepreneurs here. It's my second stint at Forbes: I learned the ropes of business journalism under legendary editor Jim Michaels in the 1990s. I was previously a senior writer or staff writer at BusinessWeek, Money and the New York Daily News. I've also written for Barron's, Fast Company, Fortune, Inc., Institutional Investor, the New York Times and Reuters; edited for the World Policy Journal (a publication of the World Policy Institute); contributed to the book "The Great Minds of Investing"; and taught non-fiction writing for Gotham Writers’ Workshop. On the non-profit side, I've mentored at Girls Write Now, served on the board of directors at Highbridge Voices, been a member of the grants advisory committee of the New York Women’s Foundation, and volunteered for more than a decade at the BJ-SPSA homeless women's shelter.
