Claim your profileAlex Lo is an Emmy award-winning film and television producer whose work has resonated with audiences worldwide. His extensive portfolio has been seen everywhere from NBC’s TODAY Show, to the United Nations, to the private cinema at the White House. Alongside Director Richard Lui, Alex was the driving force behind UNCONDITIONAL, a groundbreaking seven-year project that highlights the mental health challenges faced by caregivers. The Academy Award -qualified film was the most widely distributed documentary of 2023. In a historic first, UNCONDITIONAL was screened at the U.S. Capitol for Members of Congress, at the European Parliament in Brussels, at the United Nations Headquarters, and at the White House by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. Committed to broad representation in production, Alex led the recruitment of UNCONDITIONAL's 150-person crew, bringing together change-makers including Maria Shriver and Montel Williams. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA). He also contributes to the Advisory Panel of 'Impact at Work', helping to launch a series of workplace inclusion risk reports in Davos during the World Economic Forum. Alex made his producing debut with the $3.1M documentary feature “Sky Blossom”, on children caring for military veterans with disabilities. The film premiered at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was met with critical acclaim including the prestigious Christopher Award and an Academy Awards qualification. He has negotiated distribution deals with Peacock, American Public Television/PBS, produced top-rated broadcasts for MSNBC, and forged an unprecedented community partnership between Universal Pictures Distribution and AMC Theatres to release impact-driven films in all 50 U.S. states. Alex’s Emmy award-nominated reporting for NBC News, including coverage of technology, markets, and trade, guides breaking coverage on NBC’s TODAY Show and Nightly News. He has produced exclusive interviews with newsmakers like Former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, and also contributes to NBC's Olympics coverage. He is an active supporter of the Asian American Journalists Association and serves as a mentor of its JCamp youth program. Alex also spent four years in sports broadcasting as part of the control room crew for NBA and NHL games at Boston’s TD Garden. He is fluent in three languages and graduated with honors from Boston University.
