Claim your profileMy resume reflects the diversity of my interests. I have strong ties to the arts and music community in Memphis, having played with numerous musical endeavors there, most recently leading my jazz orchestra through live scores I've composed for silent films. Meanwhile, though my music journalism for the Memphis Flyer and Memphis Magazine has been praised for bringing a performing musician's perspective to the beat, it often also has a strong anthropological element, that being my erstwhile specialty in academia. And I have a passion for farming, especially the organic variety, and have even presented at "The Anthronaut Farmer," a panel at the American Anthropological Association's annual meetings. A jack of all trades, an ever-aspiring Renaissance guy, striving to be, in the words of Duke Ellington, "beyond category."
