Akash is currently the managing editor at Charlottesville Tomorrow, a community-driven local news organization that connects people in Charlottesville and central Virginia to each other and issues that impact them.Prior to his current position, Akash led a newsroom of more than 350 journalists in over a dozen countries for S&P Global Market Intelligence. The team provided breaking news, features and analysis covering the financial, energy, real estate, media, healthcare, consumer and mining sectors as well as the leveraged loan markets, private equity and major macroeconomic and policy developments. Prior to that, he was Managing Editor, overseeing day-to-day operations of all reporters and editors. Previously he was a reporter covering banks, financial services and insurance and ran the US bank desk during the financial crisis. He earned his BA at Mary Washington College and took his MA at the University of Virginia.
