Claim your profileAfter four years of grinding at student media outlets at Temple University, in addition to prestigious freelance opportunities, I am excited to graduate this May! Starting July 1st I will embark on my journey as a multi-media journalist at WLEX in Lexington, Kentucky. During my time at Temple University and living in Philadelphia, I've dedicated myself to learning and developing as many journalistic skills as possible… in all sorts of mediums. At my internship at NBC10, I learned the ins and outs of a professional newsroom in a top market. Through my opportunities shadowing reporters and producers, and assembling stories, I gained enough trust to assist the station in breaking news situations. Throughout my six months working there, I developed newsgathering skills, on-air presence, and writing abilities. These skills carried over to my freelancing sideline reporting opportunities for Lafayette Men’s and Women’s basketball teams. During these games, I performed up to seven live hits a game, while conducting halftime and post-game interviews. The quick thinking abilities I developed over the past four years through my experiences at NBC10 have allowed me to cover games that have aired on ESPN 3, NBC Sports Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco. In addition to previously anchoring “OwlSports Update,” an Emmy award-winning sportscast for Temple University Television, I also wrote for the Claire Smith Center for Sports Media. My work for the Playing Fields, Not Killing Fields series examines the current state of Philadelphia’s youth recreation programs, and how the improvement of sporting facilities across the city could positively impact the well-being of the neighborhood. My work was published in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Outside of news and sports media, I am currently working on a project for the Klein College of Media and Communication. In the video I am producing, along with some of the brightest students on campus, I am displaying everything the college has to offer… within the confines of the building, and beyond. I am honored I get to give back to the Klein Community which has given me so much over the past four years!
