I lead teams making great content for our local audience and audiences worldwide. I'm accountable for over £100m of BBC expenditure in Northern Ireland and for encouraging, supporting and developing a skilled workforce of over 600 people. I have ultimate responsibility for the BBC's editorial decision making in Northern Ireland. I'm passionate about public service and, in particular, public service broadcasting. I have 28 years experience in news journalism, including a decade as editor/Head of News and Current Affairs, making some of the most popular (and award winning) programmes, per head of population, in the entire BBC. A strong media and communications professional with an MA in English Literature from the University of Oxford, I am also a Wavelength leadership alumni, fellow of the Westminster Abbey Institute, and Forward Institute fellow.I get quite a lot of direct messages on LinkedIn.
