I'm the Executive Editor and Vice President of Programs for Mongabay. I lead Mongabay's global newsroom through the editorial direction of our award-winning journalism. I oversee news gathering and publishing in English and created Mongabay's video, investigative, and data journalism programs. I've collaborated with thousands of journalists to craft in-depth stories and develop publications that have amplified the voices of people living closest to hotspots of environmental change. For well over a decade, I've directed and edited time-sensitive story campaigns engaging journalists to produce in-depth multimedia content for globally recognized media houses; including National Geographic, Al Jazeera, NowThis, Newsweek, Vice, The Guardian, Vox, Caixin, Bloomberg BNA, Nikkei, The Hindu, and Tempo Indonesia. I've bylined stories in National Geographic Magazine Latin America, National Geographic News, Scientific American, Salon.com, SciDevNet and Mongabay. Previously, I was the Senior Program Officer for Internews' Earth Journalism Network (EJN). While at EJN, I managed programs throughout Asia and led the network's global technology initiatives. During this time, I co-authored a guidebook for journalists about climate change in Africa published by UNESCO and created nine environmental journalism websites including earthjournalism.net, geojournalism.org, infoamazonia.org, thethirdpole.net, infocongo.org, mekongeye.com, and ekuatorial.com. Devex, Wilson Center New Security Beat, UN University Tokyo, and DW Akademie reported on my work to build a global network of environmental reporters.       I started my journalism career at National Geographic Magazine, where I coordinated translation for the magazine's local language editions. I graduated cum laude from Cal Poly Humboldt with a BA in Geography with concentrations in cartography, environmental economics, and Chinese Studies.
