Claim your profileI am an award-winning photojournalist & Photography Editor/Producer in the Multimedia Newsgathering Department at Newsday Media Group. I live & work in the New York Metropolitan area. My emphasis is with local & national news images & editing assignments from the photojournalists & video-journalists on site & on the road from World Series to United States Presidential Inaugurations. Work with the Newsday website to put the best images on the lead of the stories on the web. Editing & publishing the videos at Newsday. I was a Multimedia Specialist in Sports at NJ Advance Media & The Star-Ledger for 26 years. I was the Photo Assignment Editor in charge of the assigning of the photographers on the daily assignments & also the coordinator of travel for the photographers & myself for out of town assignments. I covered the resignation of NJ Gov. James McGreevey & was part of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting for The Star-Ledger. Recently, I worked with John Keating in editing the team of photographers to winning numerous national, state, and local journalism awards, including the Scripps Howard Award for Visual Journalism 2020 as well as 1st Place in the NYPPA 2021 Pictures of the Year Picture Story category "A Season of Protests," covering nearly 200 Black Lives Matter protests last year across Long Island and New York City I was part of the Newsday Team that won the 2019 Peabody Award for its Long Island Divided series, which explored discrimination in home buying on Long Island. The George Polk Award 2019 for Metropolitan Reporting, The Edward R. Murrow Award 2020 News Documentary, Large Digital News Organization, The Scripps Howard Award for Visual Journalism 2020, a NY Emmy in Interactive Media for "Long Island Divided" & NY Emmy for “On the Shoulder of Giants” as the Photography Editor. I've been a newspaper photographer for over a thirty years with stints as staff photographer at 3 NYC / NJ area newspapers & I was chief photographer at The Daily Register in Shrewsbury, NJ. My photographs have been awarded both local & national recognition including the Stanley Cup Finals, NBA Finals, NCAA Final Four, MLB All-Star Games, World Cup Soccer, Super Bowl XLII & XLVI & numerous World Series. I have covered News events including Presidential Conventions, United States Presidential Inauguration, Airline Crashes & the Attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City & Hurricane Sandy & its destruction in NJ. I am the Treasurer of the New York Press Photographers Association & member of the Sports Committee.
