Journalists’ goal is to be trusted... credible. I can not think of a more organic way to be a dependable, relatable and authentic broadcast journalist in our communities than to simply be yourself. Authenticity and compassion are just two assets I bring to my profession, both on and off air. I pride myself on being known as a genuine, strong and assertive presence in my newsroom and community. Engaging and useful storytelling is a priority of my personal craft. My parents taught me hard work is required; it’s never optional. That is my mantra as a colleague. How can I help? What can I do? Arrogance and laziness don’t waste their time with me.
