Claim your profileAs a deputy Long Island editor for Newsday, I focus on editing and packaging local enterprise stories, visual storytelling and breaking news. I frequently collaborate with fellow editors, reporters, designers, developers, photographers, videographers and web producers on the presentation of special reports including some of our award-winning investigations like Long Island Divided.My responsibilities also include co-chairing our training committee and I've contributed to initiatives related to subscriptions, voice products, workplace culture and social media.I also assist with our Newsday in Education fifth grade field trips. Previously, I've co-chaired our training committee and helped launch a workplace mentorship program. Before that, I was a community reporter and also shot my own photos and video.Prior to coming to Newsday, I launched, managed and created content for one of AOL's Patch.com sites serving the Long Island, NY communities of Malverne, Lakeview, Lynbrook and West Hempstead, while overseeing a small team of freelancers.
