Claim your profileI am the News Director at WJTV/WHLT. With over 30 years of combined executive management and broadcast journalism experience, I lead a diverse and talented team of more than 45 journalists and media professionals in producing high-quality and impactful news content for our audiences across multiple platforms. My mission is to deliver stories that inform, inspire, and engage our communities, and to uphold the highest standards of editorial integrity and ethical journalism. Under my leadership, WJTV 12 has achieved ratings and revenue growth, and received multiple awards, including Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards, for excellence in journalism. We have launched innovative projects and programs that address the issues and challenges facing our communities, such as “Live at 9,” Political Debates, and Town Halls. We have also leveraged our digital and social media presence to reach new and diverse audiences and to amplify our voice in the industry. I am honored to have received two National Edward R. Murrow Awards, was inducted into the NATAS Silver Circle in 2021, and was chosen for the Marquis Who's Who in America listing in 2023. I hold a Master of Arts in Education from Argosy University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas, and I am a fellow of the Kneeland Project and the Poynter Institute.
