I’m Steven, the creator and host of EveryCity Whispers—a narrative podcast exploring the invisible “rules” and quiet pressures cities place on the people who live in them: what they reward, what they punish, and how they subtly shape ambition, identity, and everyday behavior. I’ve lived and worked across five countries on five continents (currently based in Tokyo) and traveled widely, which left me obsessed with one question: What does a city want from you—and what should you give back to it? Each episode blends immersive storytelling with real voices from locals and long-term residents. I’m actively looking for short voice-note contributions (15–90 seconds) from people who have lived in (or know deeply) a specific city. I’m especially interested in: • A moment that “explains” the city (serious or funny) • An unwritten rule you learned the hard way • What the city trains you to value (time, money, craft, image, relationships, resilience, etc.) • A small detail you’d miss as a tourist, but not as a resident If you can share a clear, personal insight with a specific scene or example, I can shape it into the narrative (I can credit you in the show notes by name, pseudonym, or anonymously—your choice).
