I'm the Chief Culture writer at The Christian Science Monitor newspaper. Also the author of The Art of Rush, commissioned by the band Rush for its 40th anniversary, and a past writer for publications such as American Way (American Airlines in-flight mag), The Boston Globe, Under the Radar, Prog, Classic Rock, Reason. I have also written liner notes for album box sets for Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, and Vertical Horizon.As the former editor of the Arts section of The Christian Science Monitor, a Pulitzer-prize winning national newspaper, I'm accustomed to working on tight deadlines. I bring a distinctive flair and voice to my articles, which are always well-structured, clear, and factually accurate. I look for fresh angles on each subject so that my pieces stand out from the pack. I strive to file copy that requires little, if any, editing. I previously conceptualized, launched and managed a brand new arts & entertainment section at The Christian Science Monitor. I brought a magazine-like feel to this new section by injecting snappier writing, fresh features, and coverage of a wider variety of subjects—television, movies, music, sports, leisure and books.I specialize in finding the angles no one else is covering with in-depth reporting. I'm good at spotting fresh pop-culture trends and stories that haven’t been covered anywhere else.
