Claim your profileStephanie Haney is a national and regional Emmy-winning host, journalist, producer, lawyer and legal analyst whose videos have been viewed millions of times.Currently, she's the digital anchor at the NBC affiliate in Cleveland, WKYC 3News. Over the past year she co-hosted a weekly political video podcast called Ohio Has Issues, which she created and produced. She’s also the producer and host of the VERIFY fact check series and a legal explainer series called Legally Speaking.Before moving home to Ohio in 2019, Stephanie lived in L.A. and NYC where she won a national Emmy as a correspondent for DailyMailTV.To start 2025, Stephanie was named one of Cleveland Magazine's "most interesting people" and was featured on the cover of the January issue. In 2024, she won first place honors in 3 categories at the All Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards: Government & Politics, Crime & Justice and News Feature.Stephanie’s other awards include Best TV Newscast in a Major Market, the 2022 National Media Award from the National Council on Problem Gambling for her year-long series on whether it pays to play the Powerball lottery, and #1 podcast in Ohio for her “3 Things to Know” long-form interview video podcast.Following earning her Master of Science in Journalism from the University of Southern California, magna cum laude, Stephanie produced for ABC's Good Morning America in the Field and Series department.She's published in The Los Angeles Times, with cover stories featured in Playboy Magazine ("The Campus Consent Crisis" on Title IX and sexual assault on campus) and LA Weekly ("The Brave New World Of Embryo Adoption" on how IVF helped a 51-year-old woman birth twins), and many feature stories on DailyMail.com, PS (formerly POPSUGAR) and other outlets.Stephanie is licensed to practice law in both California and Ohio. She moved to L.A. after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. While in L.A., she studied improvisation at The Upright Citizens Brigade.Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University, cum laude, with a double-major in Political Science and Sociology with a concentration in Criminology. She studied comparative politics abroad in Wales, UK, working as a research assistant for the Welsh National Assembly's Labour Party.In her spare time, Stephanie serves on the board of Rescue Village animal shelter, is a member of the board of directors of the Plexus LGBTQ & Allied Chamber of Commerce and supports the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
