Claim your profileI joined The Indian Express in 2011, as their food correspondent in Delhi, writing on emerging food trends, culinary histories, and of course, the ubiquitous weekly food review.I was asked to expand my repertoire to writing on music and books. This meant attending and reporting on concerts and music festivals, reviewing albums and books, and the odd interview with authors, as well as a few travelogues. I was fortunate enough to be granted a high degree of independence by my editors and was able to pursue stories of my own choosing. After five extremely rewarding years at the Express I went on to step out of my comfort zone of print journalism and concentrate on writing for digital media platforms. To that end, I joined the lifestyle section of News18.com, the online platform of CNN-News18, CNN’s India affiliate, in 2017. In career déjà vu, I have expanded my repertoire of food and lifestyle reportage to writing on, first, film, and, more currently, culture social media trends, climate change, popular science and technology. I also worked in close tandem with main news desks, SEO teams, and social media managers to ensure maximum online exposure and an increase in traffic. In my time here, I also had the chance to work with the news desks, and remotely covered notable national and global events, including the 2019 Indian Elections, the Indian Budget, the Donald Trump-Kim Jong-Un Summits, and the 2018 Royal Wedding, among others.Having thus had the opportunity and privilege of working with some of the best names in the industry, I am looking to strike out on my own and diversify the scope of my writing, by working for a few select, but different glocal media outlets, and be able to cover topics of mutual interest, including developments in science and tech, shifting patterns in cultural and social trends, emergent AI, space exploration, mass media consumption, and other general and popular science topics and their effects on everyday life.
